Job Cost - Reviewing Revenue by Performance Obligation

In this session, we’ll review new settings and both new and modified windows in Job Cost that support the revenue recognition method called “Revenue by Performance Obligation” (RPO). We’ll review specifics related to the Signature upgrade process and discuss how you’ll complete existing jobs while transitioning new jobs to the RPO method. We’ll finish the session with job maintenance and the processes for recognizing revenue for RPO job types.

In this session, we’ll talk about how to have multiple revenue recognition methods within the same company, and how pending change orders can affect revenue and percent complete.

Managing Change Orders

A job's expected contract plays a vital part in measuring its profitability. In this session, you’ll learn how to enter change orders to jobs to increase as well as decrease the expected contract. We’ll also go over entering change orders to the type of job (fixed, cost plus and cost plus not to exceed), and their impact to the job contract.

Working with Estimates and Forecasts

Setting up job estimates and managing revisions to forecasts is one of the most important steps in managing job profitability. In this session, we will perform hands-on entry of original estimates and will also correct original estimates. In addition, we will make forecast revisions and discuss their impact on the job’s status.
